As a gigging musician who frequently must learn new material on very short notice, I rely on using OnSong with my iPad and when it came to a mounting system, I researched virtually every solution on the market and decided to go with the G7 from iShot and I have never looked back. In combination with the Locking Swivel Ball Head mic stand adapter, I can place my iPad exactly where I want it and it stays put. I've even had audience members bump into the mic stand that holds my iPad, knocking it over and the iPad didn't't move (I did catch the stand before it hit the floor!).
Anyone using a tablet for live use (or studio, for that mater) should grab the G7/Locking Swivel Ball Head combo so they can concentrate on the music and never worry about the placement of their digital sheet music.
In addition, iShot customer service is second to none and recently resolved an issue I had with incredible speed and personalized service.

This item kind of works and has the merit to exist, but the design did not really convince me. The part that hold the borders of the iPad are well designed, but the screws that hold the two corner-holding parts to the central bar of the holder basically do not hold very well, which results in shady holding - I always fear the iPad would fall down from its support. I think the design should be improved, as least by making sure the two corners CANNOT unscrew or detach from the central bar.
